I start work on the 24th. :-)
This means I have to enjoy every second's worth of my 9 hour sleep, invert my highly nocturnal sleeping habits, slowly phase out my slang, actually unpack my dress shirts from the basement, brush up my memory skills (including face/name recognition), brush up my office etiquette, practice saying "Yes sir, I'm on it.", and basically prepare myself for at least a month's worth of lectures/orientations/and OJTs.
*_*
I seriously hope I chose the right company. If I don't come out alive.. all my earthly belongings shall be passed on to my imaginary friend. His name is Frank.
Until then.. I shall milk every ounce of marginal utility out of my bum mojo. mwahahahaha

I don’t care too much about going wild. I don’t want to be all that crazy. I think I’m already past that age. I just want something simple. Good people, good laughs, good conversations, and something new. And that about sums up today. Nice night out with cousins and relatives in Greektown, Toronto. Had the best Lamb Souvlaki in a nice restaurant called Astoria (which apparently was top rated among the restaurants in that strip).. then coming home, Tita Au baked me 23 chocolate cookies as the night marked my twenty third year. :-) The greetings (thank God for facebook!) and the phone calls also made my day! Somehow I didn’t feel so away from everyone. It was nice! :-) If I can actually magically summon them to my room right now I probably would. Might be a fire hazard though. Heheh. Anyways, so I’m a year older. Am I really any older? I don’t know. Probably not. I want to be a kid at heart! I want to be those just like those old geezers playing war games in Sigur Ros’s music video “Hopippola”! (you can youtube it if you don’t know what I’m talking about) But I am thankful for all the years.. Hopefully more to come,ya ?!! Cheers!! Here’s to life!!!
I got my first parking ticket yesterday. Ever. Day 22 in this new country and I already get an infraction from the court justice of Toronto! Damn. I’m such a criminal. Seriously though, this is what happens when you get too used to suburban parking in sunny California . I blame Cali. That’s right! Not the fact that I chose to play PS2 the rest of last night and forgot I was supposed to move the car off the street @ 11PM.. So, that’s another 30 bucks down the drain. Dammit, I need a job! I really am looking though. It’s just that there’s so much I haven’t explored yet, and I feel like I haven’t caught the street’s beat yet. Alam mo yon. Parang get to feel you’re surroundings…. Ok fine fine, palusot na kung palusot. My aunt’s house is close to a major street called Danforth Ave, and along it are countless “mom and pop” kinda shops of all sorts and sizes. Pagnababato ako nilalakad ko na lang. (exercise na rin) Funny thing about it is that after you walk a certain distance, yung theme nung street nag iiba. Like from Greek, to Arabic, to Chinese. Tila bang naka cluster together. Nakakaaliw. Parang it’s a small world nang Disney. Minsan nga naisip kong mag part time sa isa sa mga shops while I'm looking for an actual career. Nga lang it's probably rugged work..
Speaking of rugged... I got this today.
My first impression when I saw the package dude carry it to the doorstep was "ano to, pinagsisipa nyo???", but seeing na he wasn't wearing a fedex uniform (even his truck was a rental one), I just thought forget it. Tutal winter clothes lang naman mostly laman. I have yet to test the printer though.
Either way, kung may shi ship kayo from U.S. to Canada.. beware.
Ayon ano pa ba... wala na akong maisip. Hanggang dito na lang muna. I have two phone interviews tom! Wish me luck!!

Hi everyone!
Andito na ako. Finally. Actually two days ago pa, kaso wala kasing internet sa bahay nang auntie ko kaya ngayon lang ako naka blog. Pero yea, just wanna take a moment (in between the endless paperwork and moving that I need to do) to say na I am now officially a Canadian immigrant!! woot woot! ^_^
Nakakaloko dito. Metric system yung gamit. Malamang kelangan kong magdala nang kodigo para sa conversion. Like one time tinanong ko yung custom's agent kung gano kalayo yung currency converter nila... and she was like "miles what...?" Ang taray pa naman nya.
Other differences... they sell milk in bags here so kelangan may pichel ka para sa gatas. And they have two dollar coins (called "two-nies") so bibigat bulsa mo pag sinuklian ka. Also when I'm driving I'm required to open my headlights even tho its daytime. (Pedestrians are also more of le "j-walker" types) Tax rates and car insurance rates are also jacked up. (i can tell this is gonna hurt me in the future) Other commodities are generally the same as the U.S.
These are just a few differences that I noticed. I'm sure there's more to follow.
Pero other than that, everything else is just like the U.S. Ayus lang naman. Marami ring iba ibang lahi tulad nang Cali. In fact, there are certain parts in the city that are just like S.F. (parang yung sa mission district Dani)
I'll post more pics and blogs later on pag may internet na sa bahay. Nakikigamit lang kasi ako ngayon sa mga pinsan ko. hehe.
I miss you all! Ingats! ^__^
So I’m finally halfway through my packing. That’s about… uhm, one box. Well, two, if you count the TV. At first, I was really freaking out… but then I realized, I really DON’T have that much stuff!! The thing is, I’ve always been a minimalist. When I was in college, I developed this zen personality where I pretty much threw away anything that’s not of my immediate needs, and kept the ones that actually matter. (It wasn’t’ really that hard coz I honestly didn’t have a lot of stuff to begin with..) Most of what I’ve collected over the years was given to me by old roommates, benevolent people, and craiglist.com. I even got a free desk one time from the dumpster. (Someone was getting rid and it and was still in top condition, so I reassembled it took it from them) T’was quite a bargain for a hundred somethin’ piece of wood. But when you’ve changed you’re address five times over the last six years.. (and this was only in the U.S.) all of ze junk gets caught in a filter. Every new house/apartment was kinda like a checkpoint. Matira matibay. Yung iba benta o pamigay na lang. And so here I am, staring at another fairly clean plate. Again. My blue (literally) chest of memories is about to get even heavier. Heh. God knows what kind of junk I’ll be buying in Canada..
I need to start wearing more shorts. And, no, this isn’t by any means due to the
fact that I would like to flaunt my perfectly sculpted leg muscles out into the
public eye, but mainly because I’ve become somewhat like a tall “oreo cookie”. Yup.
Its almost summer once again, and whether I like it or not, my arms and legs shall
once again bear the names “ebony” and “ivory”
I’ll even let my right arm and my left leg do the duet.
The thing is, I need to balance my tan. I’m thinkin about
wearing a sweater or a long sleeve shirt so that I could shield my arms from all the harmful
rays and let my bottom half take it all. But then, I’ll be sweating like a farmer
during the peak of day. And if I do end up wearing shorts during the day, by
nighttime (which is when I normally get out of campus), I’ll be freezing my butt
off coz of the cool spring breeze. Hah. Oh well. I need to find a way to work around this. Pointless rambling. I just thought the pic was funny and I figured I'd write something slightly relevant to it. :-)
On a more serious note, thanks to all who commented on my private logs. You guys are beyond awesome!
Peace y'all.
My laptop will finally undergo open RAM surgery tomorrow. After 5
solid years of unrelenting service, it now faces the threat of
extinction. The knowledgeable tech monkeys at the local PC shop
told me today that they would still perform diagnostic tests to asses
the seriousness of the situation, but they can't really guarantee
anything. Still, I hope its just the RAM...
This means no movie DVDs, no music recordings/music editings, no video
games, no music playlists, (cept for the ones in my Nano), no porn, and
less internet surfing for at least the next couple of days.
Could this be a good thing? I think so. I've been slacking heavily
these past couple of days. I deserve a kick in the butt. (I am a bit
worried though about how much all this would cost me... you know, should I
eventually loose that precious 6 pound chunk of data...)
Oh well. One thing made my day today. And that's the freakin Golden
State Warriors!!! Man, Baron Davis and company played one helluva game
today against the mighty Mavericks! I seriously don't care what Charles
Barkley says; my team (naks! kala mo naman talaga sya yung may ari..)
will continue to defy odds and expectations. They have good heart,
speed, and defense, and they pack enough punch to show the league what
it means to be a fighting underdog! Woot! Bay Area baby! Gotta
represent! (sorry dun sa mejo na e-alienate. Pero bihira lang talaga
ako mag blog about sports. Pramis.)
Anyways, I should probably cut this short before my aunt kicks me out of her computer.
Ingats mga 'tol.
Ok, I have a dilemna. My mom called me about a week ago to
talk about plans of visiting California to surprise my dad for his June Bday. She
told me, wag kang mainggay ha, malamang magagalit yon at nag abala pa kami.” Now
ironically, my dad, in his own original way, told me today to look for flights
to Ohio so that we can visit my mom for HER bday, which is of course… on the
same month! Their bdays are only three days apart, and I’m thinking.. shit,
unless I tell either one of them about their “secret” plans, the whole family’s
going to be flying airplanes like crazy. Nakakaloko. So should I do the
innie-minnie-miney-moe, and let one of them know?
Hmmm. Baka magka salisi pa kami in mid air.
On a lighter note, school started this week. Work also
started this week. Both of them are going okay. Wala ganong cute sa mga classes
ko, so I’m afraid I might have to resort to conventional methods to get my butt
to show up to class. Evenings pa naman yon. Shet. I need my inspiration. Kiera,
asan ka na?
Work on the other hand is busy, especially now that its rush
week at the bookstore. It kinda sucks coz I’m underutilizing my B.S. because
the U.S. of A only permits me to work part time within the school. Would’ve been nice to
have my old job back. Oh well. Stacking books and talking to customers is fun
too. I get a workout plus I get to improve my people skills. hah.
Lastly, multiply
still confuzzles me. I feel like I’m a kid pushing all these random buttons. They should have a book for this.
Ayun lang. Hanggang sa muli.
Hi.
Panibagong blog na naman. After the decline of xanga and then friendster, it seems I've found myself another peice of server space to violate. har har.
Anywho, I don't know what to write yet. Tamang bininyagan ko lang yung website ko with my first pointless entry.
ta-da.
